88 Points, Wine Advocate: The 2011 Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon is the wine that made a name for Cousino Macul when it was fermented and aged in big Rauli wood vats that were abandoned around 20 years ago in favor of stainless steel and barriques, where the wine now ages for one year. This is now a medium-range wine, and their best grapes are used for the Lota brand. This is a classical Cabernet Sauvignon from Macul and Buin, with a clear Maipo character offering notes of tobacco, cedar wood, mint, chocolate, roasted coffee, blackberries and a touch of black pepper and paprika. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine-grained, dusty tannins and enough acidity. Drink now-2017. – L.G. (06/2014)
