Robert Parker: The three Pinot Noirs I tasted under the Neely label all had advanced medium garnet colors as well as complex aromatics of pomegranate, apple skins, herbs and earth. The pleasant, medium ruby-colored Neely 2008 Pinot Noir Upper Picnic Block Spring Ridge Vineyard reveals some stemmy earthiness intermixed with plum, cinnamon and herbal notes. The wine is very good, but hardly inspiring. All of these Neely Pinots are best drunk over the near term. — R.P. (2/2011)
